I recently wrapped up reading Getting Things Done by David Allen and I found it extremely helpful for boosting my productivity. This book in conjunction with Cal Newport's time-block planner has helped me to get on top of projects, plan out my days and weeks and ultimately 'get things done'. David Allen talks about capturing everything that comes into your space into an in-tray and deciding on a next action for each thing. I believe we can take put our exercise routine in this in-tray and deciding on a next-action for it. The ad-hoc approach simply does not work. Deciding on why exercise and eating better is important to us is the first action to take. If we have decided that something is important to us and we understand the reasons why it gives us much greater clarity and easier for us to make the next action: Deciding when we will spend time working on it? September Blog Post - 'Win the morning, win the day'.

In my most recent newsletter to my clients I spoke about time-blocking your day to get the most important tasks done with the intent that one of those was exercise as it provides puts us on the front foot for the rest of the day. I want to follow up on this and talk about the power of having a morning routine. I think most of us are more reactive and proactive in the mornings. Pushing the limits of the amount of time we can stay in bed by hitting the snooze button, skipping breakfast, walking down coffee or tea and dashing to get out the door and meeting the queue of traffic for work or taking the kids to school. It's rush rush rush, react react react.  Since this whole lockdown happened I get up at 5:15 am (my kids are usually up by 7) and I have 4 main objectives each morning- Have breakfast - I got to get the required nutrients into my body to fuel me for the day and training. This gives me energy for activity and boosts my concentration for the next 3 tasks. 10...
